The best part about
Acer F900 Smartphone is its large touch-sensitive screen, which measures 3.8" diagonally. The resolution presented is a praise-worthy 480 x 800 pixels.
Acer has come out with an interface called the Acer Shell which in conjunction with the Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional OS (come pre-loaded) gives a very innovative way of portraying the widgets on the screen. It features a virtual 3D office desk like look. Widgets like calendar, photo frame (for photos gallery), telephone (for contacts), music player, envelope (for emails) and more can be arranged on the desk. More important & frequently used applications can be placed ahead, while the others can be dragged behind. The widgets placed ahead appear bigger in size than the ones placed behind. You can also switch to the commonly used icon-based menu as found on other
mobile phones, if you are not impressed by the Acer Shell.
When in the sunlight, this screen can also double as a mirror. Hence you might find it a little difficult to operate it on a sunny day, owing to the glare.
There is a built-in 3.2 Megapixel camera in this handset. It features autofocus, flash, still as well as video recording. Geo-tagging is supported too. A music player is packed inside the phone also.
Buttons, keys & ports housed around the gadget include a mini USB port, a microSD card slot, volume rocker, camera button and a stylus slot. There are 4 soft keys below the screen for send, end call, menu and OK.
This handheld supports 3G HSDPA standard for speedy internet connections. WiFi proficiency is also offered. The browser that comes pre-installed in this device is the Internet Explorer 6. GPS capability is offered too. Bluetooth is supported as well. The battery life for talk-time is about 4 hours with about 150 hours for standby.
