Acer recently displayed 3 new handsets at the Computex show held at Taiwan some days ago. These
mobile phones are codenamed the
F1, the
L1 & the
C1 and are reported to be released some time in September 2009. Their prices are still unknown. However, on the features front, L1 and C1 have entry-level specifications. Hence they most probably will be priced lower than the F1, which is technology-rich.

A closer look at
Acer F1 smartphone, reveals a wealth of the latest cutting-edge components in its construction. It is powered by the Qualcomm 1GHz Snapdragon processor. The Windows Mobile 6.5 OS has been employed in this phone. Internet connection with WiFi, high speed of downlinking with 3G (HSDPA), GPS capabilities for route navigation are all part of this cell phone. This little entertainer packs in an FM radio, a 3.5mm headphone socket and a 5 Megapixel camera with autofocus and flash. Wireless data transfer to and from other devices can be achieved with its Bluetooth capability as well. It also has a 3.8" 480 x 800 pixels touch screen.

The
Acer L1 smartphone is a slider phone with a 2.8" 240 × 400 pixels screen. This handheld too runs on Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system. Beneath the slider panel is a numeric keypad. This gadget has a touch sensitive display as well. More details are still awaited.

The
Acer C1 Mobile Phone is a full touchscreen candy-bar phone, with a 2.8 inch 240 × 400 pixels monitor. This is a Windows Mobile 6.5 phone too, with a 528MHz processor incorporated in it. Packed in it are a 2 Megapixel fixed focus camera, a built in stylus and a microSD card slot. With the hand-writing recognition feature of this device, texting is made convenient. It is also GPS ready.
These smartphones had earlier been announced at the
Mobile World Congress, 2009, held in Barcelona, by Acer. The company also had plans of releasing 10 mobile phones into the market this year. Some of which are the
Acer X960,
Acer DX900 and
Acer F900. Hope Acer aces in the mobile phone industry just like it did in the laptop arena.
