iPad 2 has been recently announced and there is a real buzz in the market regarding the next version, the iPad 3. The expectations about iPad 3 are really high. It is expected that iPad 3 will have more storage, memory, speed and longer battery life than that of iPad2.

The following are also expected from the new tablet. A few suggestions to Apple are also given:

1. The resolution will be 2048 x 1536 pixels, with more than 260 pixels per inch.

2. The screen will have the same reflective ness as in the earlier model. A lesser reflective screen would be preferable, while in use in brightly lit rooms. It can be a build to order option.

3. MacBook Pros does have a Thunderbolt port. Data connectivity at very high speeds through a single connector, video and power can be had through this port.

4. According to Steve Jobs, iPad 2 is a part of post-PC world. But Apple should ensure that iPad 3 is stand alone device with nothing to do with PC or Mac.

5. In spite of being mobile devices, iOS has to be connected through wires to a PC or Mac for functions like backing up of data, sync purchases etc. Apple should provide wireless sync of content for iPad3 and facilities to back up from the 'cloud'

6. Apple offers a Camera Connection Kit comprising a USB dongle and SD card reader for the iPad. But the users are not able to do anything with it. This strengthens the requirement that iPad should be a stand alone device.

7. The iPad screen is wonderful for the games, music and video. With retina display, things will be even better. Unfortunately the audio quality is very poor mainly due to the low quality internal speaker. This can be nullified to some extend by providing one more speaker to ensure stereo effect.

8. iPad3 should accept the Near Field Communication (NFC) technology. The users are not expected to use iPad for making payments, but the business establishments would be pleased to convert the device into a digital cash register. Ticketing and office access are made easy with this technology.

9. It is necessary that 3G functionality is made available for the iPad as a standard. Most of the competitors are doing the same.

10. Apple is expected to provide careful and incremental upgrades in the course of time.
