In the modern versions of smart phones too, GPS is an integrated feature. The navigation aspect of the mobile device has undergone qualitative changes in the recent past. With audio support the user will be able to find the route and locate the destination if the maps are not enough to provide adequate guidance. According to recent studies, the demand for GPS mobile phones will soar to 550 million handsets by 2012. As on date the worldwide sale is about 240 million only. The manufacturers are now addressing functional deficiencies that are found in some models on the basis of consumer complaints. Many problems concerned with accuracy, time consumption and indoor reception are now getting redressed. They are now offering location based services to cater the demands of the consuming world. A recent innovative idea is gaming with GPS enabled mobile phones. This application of GPS technology is offering a video game, which involves both physical and mental calibre of the gamer. The players are to be monitored throughout the game, as it is a location based one.
