iPad UK.... Better Than iPad US!

apple-ipadCheer up all ye folks of the UK! Do not brood... do not sulk that the iPad UK release date is still a mystery. Look on the brighter side. You'll be getting an iPad that's much better (fingers crossed) than what the folks on the other side of the Atlantic have got! By the time the iPad lands in the UK, it should be free from all the early bugs, flaws and complaints that have been reported by the US consumers.

The Apple iPad hit the US markets on 3 April, 2010. Since then there have been plenty of positive and negative remarks that have arisen. Issues faced by consumers have been raised at the Apple's discussion forum. Apple has acknowledged and given fixes for some of the issues on their support page. The iPad maker seems to be working on fixing other issues.

What people will love about the iPad....

  • The iPhone has an award-winning touch interface, which none have bean able to beat to this day. The Google Nexus One came close, but the Apple iPhone is still ahead in the race. The touchscreen of the mobile phone has been proven to be the most sensitive among the other high-end mobile phones. A gadget with the same kind of touch interface as that of the iPhone but with a larger (9.7") screen, will be sheer pleasure!

  • The App Store of-course! Apple online application store holds the record for the biggest collection of apps. Plus, it has the most number of apps being downloaded when compared to other stores. Reports mention that 1 million apps were downloaded from the App Store using the iPad, on its first day out in the US.

  • Apart from the App Store, there's an e-book store exclusive to the iPad - the iBook store. Sources say that 250,000 books were downloaded on the day it went on sale in the US.

  • One stop console for Entertainment, Games, media, work - Listen to music, download and watch videos, TV shows and more. You can even play ample number of games on the iPad. Many newspapers and magazines have developed iPad-adapted apps for giving you one touch access to media. The iWork suite of the iPad has a set of tools, similar to that of Microsoft Office for helping you with official work.

  • A long battery life - 10 hours!

Some areas of complaint.....

  • The lack of multitasking ability has been the top-cream of iPad flaws. This raises serious doubts of whether consumers will ditch their laptops/netbooks for the iPad.

  • The iPad does not support Adobe Flash. There are other free apps you can use though.

  • There is no web-camera in the iPad. Which means no video calls and video chats.

  • A shiny screen which turns reflective in the sun. And attracts finger prints easily.

The Apple iPad will be out in the UK later on this month. Plenty of prospective dates have been speculated - 23 April, 24 April, 26 April. Even prices have been predicted. They are supposed to start from about £390. O2, Orange and Vodafone will reportedly stock the tablet.
