As time passed by, his music was appreciated and loved by many across the globe. The late 1970s, 1980s and early 1990s saw a peak in his music career. His music records became the best sellers. Some of his all time bests are 'Thriller', 'Beat It', 'Bad', 'Dangerous', Billie Jean', 'Black Or White', 'Scream' and many more. Not only did he contribute to the world of song, but he was also a great trend setter in world of dance and fashion too. Some of his styles of dance like 'robot', 'moon-walking' and his patented 'anti-gravity lean' have become extremely popular, with every tom, dick and harry wanting to do the same.

Awards:-

A recipient of many Grammy awards, Michael Jackson has as well held many records in the Guinness Book, for many achievements.

Controversies In his life... MJ Justified:-

Though he had had great success in the world of music, with millions and billions of fans worshipping him around the world, life was not a smooth road for the King of Pop. He was accused of sexual abuse of children twice; once in 1993 and then again in 2005. However, on both occasions, he was found not guilty. Jackson himself had had a tough childhood. It has been said that Joseph Walter Jackson, Michael's father, used to physically beat his children up, often. They were brutally beaten if they faltered or turned up late for the practices. Michael had once even said that he feared his father and thought that his mother, Katherine Jackson feared him too. Perhaps this fear drove the great singer closer to his mother, who was his confidant and friend always. And again, it is said that it was this same fear and hatred towards his father, which made him hate the way he looked and made him undergo a series of cosmetic surgeries. He wanted to look as far away as possible from his father. Some people have even blamed him of deserting his originality, his skin colour. But it is also said that he suffered from vitiligo, which causes depigmentation of the skin. Though the actual causes of vitiligo are not clearly known, many doctors attribute emotional distress as a major cause of the problem.

It is true that Michael invited children to his home and spent time with them. May be he saw in them the innocent childhood that he would have loved to have; but the one he'd never had.

There have been many more controversies woven about the singer regarding different aspects of his life. He had been linked with many women, questioned about his sexuality, his mental stability, his ability to be a good father to his children and even humiliated when he was strip-searched by an investigating team, after being accused for child molestation. Perhaps all these incidents drove him into illness and drugs. Michael Jackson had once told a close friend that he would have loved to live a normal life. Had it not been for these controversies, perhaps the singer would have led a normal and happier life. Though many a time, he was called weird, bizarre, eccentric behavioral and mentally unstable, yet deep within Michael was still a human being; a loving son, a caring father. He had worked for and donated huge sums of money toward charitable causes. These included orphanages, hospitals, organizations for helping people overcome addictions and more. During his tours to promote his music or when he performed in places, he would invite under-privileged children to come and watch his shows for free. He has the record of supporting most number of charities in the Guinness Books too.

MJ touches many more realms of life:-

Michael Jackson not only rocked the music world, but also affected other realms of life. Video games themed on his albums have been made. There was news that a mobile phone was also to be launched in his name in Japan. His posters have adorned the walls of billions of houses of fans around the world. T-shirts, caps, and other gadgets carry his pictures too.

His songs touch the heart:-

Many of Michael's music albums, like "The Earth Song", "Heal The World" and more really touch the cords of the heart, bringing tears to the eyes of the listeners. The depth of meaning, the messages they convey and the feelings they stir are quite inexplicable. Some of his albums like "Black or white" also promote social causes and put down racism.

This Is It:-

The concert "This is it", that was supposed to happen at London in the O2 arena, is now expected to happen as a tribute to the great pop star, from his family and other singers from the industry. Though the King of Pop is physically not here today, his memories and music will forever stay. May his soul rest in peace.
