A survey was conducted by 4G CTO Dr Doug Pulley about the quantity of cells that would be required in the UK to provide excellent super fast 4G and it was found that London would require around 70,000 tiny cells inclusive of 12,000 in outside locations, offices, shopping malls and likewise areas and around 2,000 for underground. He is also designing for other town and he feel that Manchester and Birmingham may not require as much. The UK will require around 290,000 tiny cells in all.

Although these figures may seem extremely huge, these equipments are as small as a textbook and can be positioned at any place including a lamp post, other street furniture or even anywhere inside a building. Users will hardly be aware that this small device exists as you will not see any big towers like these days.
