With so many smartphones flooding the market, one sometimes feels that the mobile phones of yore were far better. A spot study conducted by myVoucherCodes.co.uk reveals that 24% of the people who participated in this census preferred their old mobile phones when compared to the shinier and innovative smartphones of today. This does make one wonder whether the old phones really were better.
With the launch of the first smartphone just about four years ago in 2007, there have been ever so many better, bigger and more advanced and more potent phones being introduced into the market practically every week. However there is this gut feeling that the older, more crusty looking phones was in fact more superior that their revolutionary successors.
The Nokia 3310 and 3210 were a class apart doing all that it was made to do sincerely and assiduously. In spite of the fact that the latest Motorola Razr that was launched as recently as a day back, has a snazzy 4.3 inch wide touchscreen including an 8-megapixel camera it would never be as good as the Razr of old.
In addition the battery life of the monochrome mobile phones of yesteryears were far better and were much simpler to use than the new generation mobile phones of today. And the old mobile games called snake became such a hit with the old Nokia mobile phone users when compared to the game called Angry Birds that you find in the newer models. Not to mention the tool that helps you to compose ring tones to your tastes and fancies.
Of course there are some great qualities in smartphones where you can avail of a lot of applications and various other goodies like Wi-Fi, GPS and 3G, ensuring that your mobile phone can act like your mini computer, allowing you to browse the Internet, listen to and view hi definition video-audio and play those simply fantastic online games that have more or less taken gamers by storm. However these smartphones of today are not as sturdy as the mobile phone that people once used. You just have to drop it and there is every chance that the screen will be broken into smithereens or if the battery life is gone, it's better that you look-out for another mobile phone. Do you remember the number of times you may have dropped your old Nokia mobile phone and all you did was dust off any mud particles and start using it all over again. There lies the difference!
So what do people really feel? Are the phones of yesterday better than the newly created phones that seem to be crowding the market today? It would be great if people would come out openly with their comments on this topic and if given an option to use an old mobile phone what would their choices be?
