Among all the exquisite gadgets unravelled at CES, 2010, the YoGen power generator seems like a very handy device to carry along during journeys. This product has been developed by a company called Easy Energy.

The YoGen mobile phone charger works like a yo-yo. It has a handle attached to a cord. When this cord is pulled a few times, it can generate power to charge mobile handsets. This device is not meant for the daily full battery charging of your mobile phones. They can be used in case of emergencies, when your mobile phone battery dies on you, and when there are no main around.

Unlike many of the emergency phone chargers, which have a battery for transferring charge to the battery of the cell phone, this YoGen generator is battery-free. There are adapters for many phones, like the Apple iPhone and the Blackberry. The cost of the device is something like $40.

Easy Energy have also developed a YoGen Max charger, which can be used for emergency laptop charging and can be powered by the foot.
