Blackberry Bold 9700 Mobile Phone

RIM has unveiled 2 smartphones lately - the Blackberry Storm 2 and the Blackberry Bold 9700 Mobile Phones. However, both these mobile handsets seem like tweaked versions of other Blackberry mobile phones. While the Storm 2 is a full touchscreen handheld, the Bold 9700 sports the classic Blackberry form factor. The latter has a 2.44" LCD screen with a 480x360 pixel resolution. Below this screen sits the QWERTY keyboard. There are pick call, end call, back and menu buttons along with a trackpad for navigation, located above the keyboard.

This smartphone is based on the Blackberry OS 5. It can connect to 3G networks and using the HSDPA standard, deliver high speed communication over the internet. Be it browsing the web pages or emailing, you can do it all very fast. Like most of the Blackberry smartphones, this one too, lets you add 10 email accounts for quick access. You can also send and receive SMS and MMS using this gadget. Quad band GSM and quad band UMTS are supported as well. At WiFi hotspots, you can directly access the internet too. This device supports UMA (Unlicensed Mobile Access), which lets you get seamless connection with mobile phone networks and wireless networks. However, this feature needs to be supported by the mobile phone operator, if you wish to use it.

This mobile handset houses a 3.2 Megapixel camera. Most of the mobile phones that come with a form factor like this, offer similar or lower resolution cameras. So no qualms about this. The camera lets you shoot stills and videos. Autofocus, image stabilization, flash and 2x digital zoom capabilities are offered as well. This cell phone has 256MB of internal flash memory and even microSD cards are supported for memory extension.

The Blackberry Bold 9700 comes packed with A-GPS and Blackberry maps. Befriending your surroundings is thus a piece of cake. This handset is Bluetooth v2.1 ready. A media player is integrated within too. Watch videos as well as listen to music whenever you want. You can either use the in-built speakers or Bluetooth headsets for the music. A playback life of 38 hours is promised. For talk, the Bold 9700 claims to deliver 6 hours with GSM networks.

The Blackberry Bold 9700 Mobile Handset is expected to release worldwide in November. Pricing details, offers and mobile phone deals are yet to be revealed.
