Standard functions are easy to launch. You have to hit the BlackBerry Button to scroll and choose the option from a menu, to launch you e-mail or SMS. But another option allows you to launch the SMS from the contact on the address book. For social networking, the phone has the Facebook and Twitter apps  already on it.
