Apple iPhone 4 – A Smartphone Like Never Before
June 9, 2010
It is finally here! The world's thinnest smartphone! The device that is supposed to recreate magic like the first iPhone did! The only Apple gadget to have broken the Apple's rigid law of secrecy! The Apple iPhone 4....

Steve Jobs announced the new shiny enticer on Monday, the 7th of June 2010, at the Worldwide Developer's Conference (WWDC), held in San Francisco.
For a change, many of the critics who usually find faults with every new Apple gear, seem to be silenced in awe. And why not? The device is super-impressive in terms of aesthetics and offerings. Plenty of new things, along with some that were long due.
The “4” in “iPhone 4” could imply 2 things – Firstly, it is the fourth iPhone incarnation. Secondly, it offers a resolution four times that of the previous iPhones! Moreover, this matches the new operating system that it features too – the iOS4. Hence, the '4' does not actually refer to “4G” like most of us assumed initially.
The Hot and Happening....
The iPhone 4 has a flat rectangular structure with curved edges, unlike the curved-back structure of the previous iPhones. Yet it looks as svelte, sleek and enticing as the others in the family. This has been done to utilise every bit of available space. Hence, real estate within the device has been optimally used.

It has a stainless steel case which offers more strength and a more solid feel, than aluminium does. Moreover, stainless steel is a good conductor for radio waves and makes for best reception of voice and data signals. Thus, this device should not pose any signal reception problems like the iPad initially did.
There's plenty to talk about when it comes to the screen – the iPhone 4 has a 3.5” LCD screen, which offers a resolution of 960x640 pixels - the highest resolution that any smartphone has offered till date. As aforementioned, this resolution is 4 times that of the previous iPhones. Even the contrast ratio offered is 4 times that of the predecessors. Apple prefer calling this high resolution screen as the Retinal Display. It has LED backlight and better viewing angles too.

Another breakthrough that the iPhone has had is the camera. There has been a leap from 3MP to 5MP, which gives many of the Apple fans another reason to smile. Some interesting features about the camera are – LED flash, 5x zoom, recording of 720p videos at 30 frames per second and tap to focus for videos. The 720p HD videos can be edited and shared as well.
The iPhone 4 is blessed with a front facing camera too. Video Calling is another celebrated aspect of this device. It is said to work out-of-the-box. However, at present video calls can be had only using WiFi and between two iPhone 4 devices. The FaceTime feature allows toggling between primary (back) camera and front camera, even during a video call, just by the tap of a button.
Last, and probably the best highlight of the new Apple iPhone 4 is its ability to multi-task. All thanks to the new operating system that it is based on – the iOS4. If Apple would have missed out this important ability, the iPhone 4 would have surely been on the top of the list of annoyances for many and the butt of many jokes too. Although delayed, we're happy it is here.
Other Apple iPhone 4 Specs ...
The A4 processor, which is already the boss in the iPad, is also driving the iPhone 4. There's support for 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1. AGPS is supported too. You get the usual access to iTunes and the App Stores. Additionally, even iBooks can be accessed.
Apart from the accelerometer, the iPhone 4 has a gyroscope integrated within as well. This can be used for specific games. Steve Jobs demonstrated the usage of the device's 3-axis gyro with a game of Jenga.

The battery is said to be larger than that present in the older iPhones, and hence, life offered is also higher. Apple claims 7 hours of talktime on 3G, 14 hours on 2G; 10 hours of video-playback, 40 hours of audio playback; 6 hours of surfing the web on 3G, 10 hours on WiFi.
Micro-SIM cards will be used by this mobile phone as well, just like the iPad.
The device will be available in black and white colours. Additionally, you can get blue, pink, green and orange bumpers to deck it up as well.
The Apple iPhone 4 will be up for pre-order on 15 June 2010 and sales will start on 24 June 2010. In the UK, iPhone 4 deals will be available with O2, Orange, Vodafone and T-Mobile.
Apple iPhone 4G Speculated Specs – Might be a Reality
May 22, 2010
In accordance with the 3 year old Apple trend of releasing a sensational iPhone during the mid of the calender year, we can expect the next Apple iPhone to step into limelight pretty soon. The gadget, which has already popped up in rumour-zone, is supposed to be called Apple iPhone 4G; indicating that it would be compatible with the next generation communication technology.
A recent rumour has mentioned that the new Apple iPhone 2010 will be available in a variety of colours, like blue, green and pink, apart from the regular white and black.

Gizmodo had earlier stumbled upon a lost prototype of the iPhone 4G and had thoroughly examined it, in and out. This is what was found:-
Form Factor - The new device seems to have broken the norm of the usual iPhone structure. It does have a rectangular from factor, with curved edges, like the older models. However, what's different is its flat back. The 3G and 3GS models had tapered ends on the back.
Screen – The screen is said to be slightly smaller in size than the iPhone 3GS, but with better resolution.
Camera – The camera might be a higher resolution one. It is as well said to have a larger lens and a flash. Plus a second video-call camera is also said to be present on the front side.

Micro-SIM – Like the iPad, the Apple iPhone 4G is supposed to offer a micro-SIM card slot.
Battery – A larger battery will reportedly be powering up the new gadget. Other components within are said to be miniaturised and more compactly packed, to make space for the large battery. Moreover, Gizmodo also mentions that the form factor itself has been designed without tapers on the back, as there was no space for any.
Others – This new iPhone is said to have a second noise cancellation microphone at the top just like the Google Nexus One.
Engadget also made an exciting discovery last month, when one of their editors happened to spot the iPhone 4G sitting in the same picture of the Apple lab, in a corner along with the Apple iPad.
All evidences make it seem like the Apple iPhone 4G will take the world by storm. We'll let you know as we stumble upon something more.

Latest Apple iPhone 2009
May 27, 2009
Apple iPhone has already created a great niche for itself after its first release in 2007. The initial model was a big hit in the market. Then came the upgraded version a year later, with additional useful features like 3G. And again, the iPhone magic did charm a huge percentage of the consumers. Many rumours have lately been making news regarding a new 2009 version of the Apple iPhone Mobile Phone. What can be expected of this new model? Will it keep up the trend of being the 'Apple' of the eyes of many?
The Apple iPhone 2009, can be expected to feature a larger RAM (256MB), double that of the 2008 version. Also a four-core 600MHz CPU might be used. This indicates that the new iPhone will be a more powerful one which will give enhanced speeds of operation. Moreover, this handset is expected to be available in 32GB and 16GB storage versions.
A 3.2 Megapixel camera might be packed in this device, instead of the 2MP one which featured in the predecessor model. This camera will play the role of a camcorder too, enabling one to shoot videos. Video editing capabilities might be featured in the new Apple iPhone as well. Sending pictures and videos using MMS is also a probability with this phone. There might be a secondary camera for video calling too.
The screen of the new iPhone model is expected to be an OLED, instead of LCD. OLED screens, when compared to LCD screens, consume lesser power. Moreover, this 2009 iPhone is supposed to give a longer battery life too, in comparison with the previous iPhone model.
GPS capabilities with turn by turn directions for road navigation might be another striking feature of the latest Apple iPhone. A compass might also be built into this device. The camera, the compass, the GPS receiver, the orientation sensor and Google maps will work together to give the location of the picture clicked too. Even the presence of an FM transmitter is in the list of the expected features of this new Apple mobile phone . Access to adult content with extra parental control might be featured in the phone as well.
On the looks front, this Apple iPhone 2009 version might be available in matte finish. An Apple logo which emits white light might be present on the back side of the phone. Sleeker in design, this new Apple iPhone will definitely be a handsome gadget if these expectations are true. It is also expected to carry an attractively low price tag. The release date of this phone is rumoured to be July 17, 2009. The model number of this phone might be A1303. Let's hope and keep fingers crossed that the new Apple iPhone A1303 Smartphone turns out to be a reality!

Blackberry Storm: iPhone or Celebrity killer?
November 29, 2008
What's all this Blackberry's celebrities liaison stuff? Any Clue?
Negative, Mr Salisbury. But one thing is sure. There's some sort of magic happening with their gadgets, or why do we not find these celestial bodies going gaga over other brands...
Not all dear, Not all. Norfolk chum Fry, sort of flayed the Storm recently on Twitter, railing it was such disappointment that he rushed out unfinished, for its lag so terrible, fussy touchscreen and awfully fiddly text input.
Stephen Fry? The novelist-comedian? On Blackberry Storm 9500 Mobile Phone?
Exactly.
Mr Salisbury, just recently heard that Oprah Winfrey was spotted with a Blackberry Storm..say on the Obama election night.
No way. That must've happened on November fourth, while Storm was launched ten days later..on November fourteenth. Perhaps some other RIM model or might even be a Chinese look-alike.
May be, but I swear Jennifer Aniston averring that she used her Blackberry to sort her mails. She also said that she was stunned watching people work on Blackberry models like some girls working their hair dryers.
That sounds just, for it comes with with a 360 x 480 pixels, high-resolution touchscreen of 4:3 aspect ratio, much like the primitive televisions. Light sensing technology present, and more significantly it offers a handful of virtual keyboard options.
Virtual Keyboard options?
Yes it includes a standard QWERTY keyboard in landscape mode and tilt it to gain a Sure Type keyboard in portrait mode. Numeric and symbols keypads are also in the provision list.
What about the camera?
You definitely have one here. One with a 3.2MP sensor resolution. But don't count on it, hearsays point to a sloppy work. However, RIM just sort of wanted to beat the Apple iPhone 3G's 2MP snapper.
Multimedia?
This one is better than iPhone 3G in any case. For it can read WMA and WMA ProPlus formats, apart from reading WMV files. That's more like a shot in the arm for PC users. Add this with the 1GB internal memory of the contraption that can be expanded up to 16GB using a microSD card. And the applications part now...Think they are planning to hit the T-Mobile G1 Google Android Mobile Phone's Google Android Market and iPhone App Store with their own Blackberry Application Centre.
What about connectivity Mr Salisbury, tell me how fast is my thing?
Certainly won't disappoint you pal. It handles 3G, where available, much like the iPhone 3G and its Bluetooth factor is definitely sharper than iPhone's. However, you have to learn to respect your opponent sportingly, simply for its sporting WiFi. Yes, Storm comes without WiFi. And more woes, poor GPS back up, due to some map problems, say issues with BIS connections. GPS system and maps of this device cut sorry figures, akin to Paul Collingwood and Freddy in the sub-continent recently.
Yeah, that was really aweful..the five nil drubbing. Forget that what about our browser?
Hokey-Pokey boy, it really scores here with a Webkit based forum, similar to what Google's Chrome or Apple's Safari are based on. More, you can expect blitzkrieg in this sector with Storm sporting the Blackberry OS 4.7 operating system. Not content yet? Then take who's the newest proud owner of Blackberry Storm...Hamilton dear, Lewis Hamilton was recently found flaunting his Storm, and that too, after winning the Formula One. One of the quickest men in the world substantiating one of the swiftest gadget.
Great, I would not be surprised even if one piece of this Storm is found in the Masoleum of Elvis, right on his chest, for sure.
