Abandoning a three-year exclusive contract with Phones4U, which had turned out to be a bitter rival, in the later times, Vodafone is all set to return to Carphone Warehouse, mainly with a view to boost its position in the extremely competitive UK mobile market.

The new UK boss of Vodafone, Guy Laurence had admitted in May this year that the experiment with Phones4U had not worked upto expectations as the latter was found stretching sales targets. Ever since, Vodafone had been involved in deep talks with Carphone Warehouse over the renewal of their previous working bond.
For Vodafone, it might just prove as a stepping stone to catch up with its rivals such as O2 in the market, where it had been losing grounds considerably in the recent times. Meanwhile, Phones4U would definitely press the panic buttons for this colossal loss at a time when the retail chain was hit by the hostile economic condition, besides the cutthroat competition from the exclusive stores of mobile networks and Carphone Warehouse itself.
HTC Hero Mobile Phone will Hit the UK Shores on July 15

The new Android smartphone from HTC, HTC Hero Android Mobile Phone is all set to hit the Amazon stores in the UK, with a price tag of GBP 429, which is deemed by many as exorbitant.
This smartphone that works on an Android platform has already earned a monicker – the Twitter-phone, and will be available from the 15th day of July, as revealed by the Amazon site. However, many do not accept it whole-mindedly as the likes of T-Mobile or Orange have not given out any date regarding the launch of this phone yet.

A small femtocell device dubbed Access Gateway, has been announced by the mobiles carrier Vodafone. This device that carries the unique distinction of the first femtocell device developed in the UK, can enhance mobile phone reception in the home of a customer.
The device, which will be launched in the UK, along with its service on 1st of July, bolsters the 3G (UMTS, HSPA, HSDPA, etc) phone signals by piggybacking on a landline broadband connection from any internet service provider.
The device that will be availed through a range of packages, depending on the customer’s mobile tariff is the first of its kind to be launched in Europe as well. The device can be purchased on a mobile phone deal of 24 months, at a cost of GBP 5 a month. An 18 month contract will be charged GBP 7 per month.
Otherwise, the upfront price of the Access Gateway gadget would be GBP 160 followed by a monthly service fee of GBP 5. Another enticing offer extended by Vodafone is a comprehensive deal for the fresh customers, comprising of a 3G smartphone with 500 texts and 100 minutes free usaget, and Access Gateway gadget itself for GBP 15 a month spanning over 24 months.
Even though critics play down it as a gimmick from Vodafone to boost its coverage in a cheap and artful way, some experts still believe that it can be a perfect solution to the customers in the rural areas.
