The headset that ships with it is also made from similar plastic. Less paper and package material are used for packing up the device too. Moreover, non-toxic processes are used for painting the handsets. The overall manufacturing process is also supposed to be eco-friendly.
There have been eco-friendly phones launched by other companies previously. Such phones are usually less technology-rich with only essential calling and messaging features. Some of the latest go-green cell phones are Digicel Coral 200 Solar and Commtiva Sola. However, the Sony Ericsson C901 GreenHeart is quite robust compared to these phones. Samsung Blue Earth Phone, which is also technology-fertile, is another exception. Sony Ericsson Naite is as well a new environment friendly phone from the company.

Sony Ericsson Yari Mobile Phone
June 3, 2009
Sony Ericsson Yari Multimedia Mobile Phone, one of the 3 new handsets (Sony Ericsson Aino and Sony Ericsson Satio being the other 2) from the company, brings with it a unique feature, not seen with mobile phones outside Japan – gesture gaming. This new innovative feature lets you play games by actually moving your body. A games carousel is also introduced by this cell phone, which lets you access all games from your desktop. The PlayNow arena service can as well be accessed from the Yari.
Gesture gaming definitely will give people their daily dose of exercise. It seems like a nice unique way of having fun and passing your leisure. Mmmm… But, it would surely seem a little whacky to find people boxing invisible enemies, bowling or smashing or throwing invisible balls, twisting and turning when they are waiting at a bus stop, traveling or sitting on a park bench. However, gesture gaming should be given a chance and not ridiculed just by the mere internet-ish knowledge of the concept.
If you are exhausted playing the gesture games, you can even play regular games or listen to music. This handheld boasts a ’state-of-the-art’ music player and stereo speakers, for providing a high-end music experience. To listen to the music, you can either plug in the head-set that comes in the package or use Bluetooth wireless headphones. An FM radio is also integrated into this music phone. There is an option that lets you share your music with friends as you talk by the click of a button too. Equipped with a 5 Megapixel camera, this phone offers a variety of ways to make life’s precious moments memorable.
Another attractive feature of this slider phone is its 3.5G capability. Accessing internet pages or emailing will all happen in a jiffy with this feature. A 2.4” 240 x 320 pixels camera is featured for viewing all the displays. There is an internal memory of 60MB. Memory expansion can be achieved as well with microSD cards. A-GPS ability is presented too, for accessing location based applications. A USB port for data exchange is housed as well. The Sony Ericsson Yari Gesture-gaming Phone will be available for sale during the fourth quarter of 2009. The price of this handset is not known yet.
Updates : The Yari might most probably see a release on the 28th of September, 2009.
