Among the three new phones announced by Nokia recently,
Nokia 2730 Classic Mobile Phone is the only 3G capable handset. The other 2 phones are the
Nokia 2720 Fold and the
Nokia 7020. The 3G capable cellphone among the trio, has a candybar form factor.
A 2" 320 x 240 pixels screen is featured. A 30MB in-house memory is present in this gadget, with memory expansion options too. There is a microSD card slot which can hold cards of a maximum of 2GB capacity, for this purpose.
Being 3G enabled, this mobile phone allows surfing the web with great speed. The WCDMA protocol works behind the scene to achieve this. Sending and receiving emails, uploading or downloading information from the websites are all made fast with this ability. Even lower generation technology protocols like quad-band GSM,
GPRS and EDGE are supported. Apart from emails, you can send and receive SMS and MMS as well. Another helpful feature of this cell phone is its GPS proficiency. Along with Nokia maps, this utility lets you take advantage of some location oriented applications.

Information exchange with other devices, like your PC or another mobile phone, is made possible with the Bluetooth capability of this handheld. There is a USB port too, for wired data transfer. You can transfer photographs, video clips, music files and more. Like many other camera phones in the market, this phone too packs in a 2 Megapixel camera, for shooting cherish-able stills and treasure-able videos. An FM radio and a multi-media player have also been integrated into this music phone. A 3.5mm Nokia AV connector is housed in this phone as well. Other applications like schedulers, reminders, games, access to Nokia services like Ovi and more are available too.
Nokia 2730 Classic 3G Mobile Phone will be available in black and dark magenta colours. A good battery life is also promised by this handset. It is expecting a release in the third quarter of 2009. With a price tag of about EUR 80, this is one of the
cheapest mobile phone and affordable 3G phones seen lately.
