Dell Lightning Windows Phone 7 Mobile Phone

Dell Lightning Windows Phone 7 PhoneDell Lightning is Dell's first smartphone to feature Microsoft's latest mobile phone platform, the Windows Phone 7 OS. So, this new smartphone will be home to all those goodies that come along with Microsoft's new mobile phone platform - like the Xbox Live on the phone console, Zune for music, the 6 hubs and more. Plus, the most exciting news about this handset is that it will be upgradable to LTE during the last quarter of 2011!

The Dell Lightning smartphone is a portrait slider. It has a 4.1" WVGA OLED touchscreen. The 1GHz Snapdragon looks after processing. Being an advanced smartphone, it packs in the full fledged networking set, which includes support for WiFi, 3.5G networks and Bluetooth. GPS is also supported by this Windows Phone 7 phone.

Other features include a 1GB of internal flash memory. An 8GB microSD storage is also present on-board. However, this is speculated to be non-swappable as Windows Phone 7 does not support user replaceable memory cards.

A 5MP camera with autofocus is said to be packed within the Dell Lightning mobile phone. Plus there is an accelerometer, a compass and built-in FM radio. While the initial release of the Windows Phone 7 OS will not offer support for Flash, Microsoft might add the feature later on.

The Dell Lightning release date is expected to be some time during Q4 of 2010.
