The Austrian firm Emporia have come out with 2 new mobile phones, the Elegance and the Solid, which are aimed at the elderly people.
The
Emporia Elegance mobile phone has a 1.8" OLED display. The "menu navigation" is said to be intuitive. It is supposed to have an extra loud-speaker and also work well with hearing aids. This handheld is supposed to ship first, during the spring with a price of €129.
The
Emporia Solid mobile phone, as the name suggests is supposed to be a rough and tough mobile handset. This one too has a 1.8" OLED screen. This handheld is said to come into the market shortly after the Elegance, with a price of €199.
From the looks of these handsets, they seem to offer basic functionality like calling, texting, single -click calling, maybe
music and tools like reminders, clock, alarm and so on. They seem like mobile phones that the old people would appreciate, all thanks to the large buttons, high contrast screens, large display characters and simplicity in usage. Either of them are supposed to offer a talktime of about 3 hours and a standby time of 12 days.
