LG is planning the release of a line-up of Windows Mobile Phones. The
LG GM750 Layla Mobile Handset is one of them and is expecting a UK market launch (along with Netherlands, Spain, Greece, Germany and Italy markets) on 6 October 2009. The carrier that has been honoured to stock this mobile phone is Vodafone.
First of all, this
mobile phone will be powered by the Windows Mobile 6.5 OS. This new OS is expected to deliver a better internet explorer experience and is supposed to be more touch friendly. Moreover, certain features like MyPhone, Windows Marketplace for Mobile, Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, Windows Live will be part of this version of the OS. LG's S-class 3D user interface will be featured on this handheld. A new utility called 'chat on the map' will be sported by this gizmo too. This utility will let you chat with your friends using IM, while also knowing their geographical locations. This smartphone also supports WiFi for logging on to the internet at hotspots. The 3G ability of this gadget adds extra flavour to its internet capability. GPS capability lets you access location based applications too.
The screen of this device measures 3" diagonally and claims to have an applaudable resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. This display offers touch sensitive capability for user interaction. An accelerometer has been built-in to rotate display on the screen in accordance with the orientation of the phone. A 5 Megapixel camera with autofocus ability has been fitted into this cell phone as well.
