LG have attempted something new in terms of design with their second Android mobile phone, the LG GT540 Mobile Handset. Unlike most smartphones which have a compact cuboidal shape, this LG phone has a slight curvature on its front and back sides. The top and bottom edges are slightly curved too. On the back side, LG have given a uniformly wrinkled finish to the handheld. On the whole this mobile phone is a scorer when it comes to looks.

This will supposedly be an Android 2.0 device. It will have a 3" 320 x 480 pixels touchscreen. The interface will be a combination of the Android and the LG S-Class UI.

Social networking will be an innate quality of the LG GT540. It will come integrated with the SNS Manager, which handles social networking services. Websites like Facebook, Bebo and Twitter are supposed to get quick accesses in this mobile handset. Plus there will be 3G compliance as well. Hence web pages should download at good speeds. WiFi and GPS are also supposed to be supported.

A 3MP camera will be built into this cell phone. A media player, an FM radio and a 3.5mm headphone socket will form the mobile entertainment factors. Media files and photographs can be exchanged with other devices, either using Bluetooth or microSD cards.

The LG GT540 Smartphone will sport 4 hues - black, white, gray and pink. It is speculated to be available in April, 2010. There will most probably be a UK release. The prices have not yet been made known, though.
