LG Dare Touchscreen Mobile Phone is a feature-rich handset which looks like the Apple iPhone. Though not a smartphone, it does offer many of the most wanted features of the modern day mobile phone. It has a candybar form factor and sports a large 3” 240 x 400 pixels colour TFT touchscreen. You can either use the virtual QWERTY keyboard for feeding your input or write it out on the screen. With the intuitive hand-writing recognition feature, this phone identifies what you've written and prints out the same. You can browse the internet using the full HTML browser. Complete with an accelerometer, this monitor helps you view displays when holding the phone at any orientation. A proximity sensor turns off the LCD screen when there is a call, to avoid any unwanted touch inputs.
During its launch, this gizmo was one of the first to feature the icon drag and drop ability to customise your phone screen. There is even a drawing pad tool, which lets you draw figures or maps or anything under the sun, which can be sent to other phones via MMS.
The peripheral controls and ports include a microSD card slot (of up to 8GB capacity), a USB charging slot, a speakerphone key, a 3.5mm headphone socket and a volume rocker. A 3.2 Megapixel camera with Schneider Kreuznach optics, which can capture both photographs and videos is housed in this camera phone. A multimedia player is as well packed in this device.
This phone uses the Verizon network in the US. Hence it can access the V Cast Video and V Cast Music services of Verizon for getting hold of the videos and music. It is a 3G EVDO capable gadget. Thus, high speeds of downloading can be achieved, without you having to sit tapping your fingers on the table. The price of this gadget is about $199. GPS proficiency is offered as well, for helping you out with your surroundings. Bluetooth ability is presented by this cell phone too. All these features combined with a reasonably long battery life makes the LG Dare VX9700 Mobile Phone a great travel-mate.
