"They misunderestimated me". Can you blame Bush for this candid expression that he made in Bantoville, Arkansas on Nov 6 2008?
Definitely not Mr Salisbury, definitely not. All the more, considering the words came from the heart of a really 'misunderestimated' gentleman.
Seems same sort is happening with Motorola in the UK. Rachel Ward, the UK marketing director of Motorola has quit, as part of its marketing team restructure. It can also be linked with the ongoing global redundancies, and definitely not with the debacle of Motorola Motozine ZN5 Mobile Phone. He has nothing to do with that. In fact, apprehending and procrastinating were part of the company's policies.
Bingo! There's a point there. They could had launched their 5MP camera version long back. But, I can't see any logic in blaming Mr Ward for that, when there are more men above him to decide on launches.
True. You should ponder over Bob Woodward's quoting Bush in 'Bush at War'. "I am the commander - see, I don't need to explain why I say things. That's the interesting thing about being a president." This is a good line for the think-tank of Motorola to imbibe. Or else, they have another one from the ex-president of the USA, "When I take action, I'm not going to fire a $ 2 million missile at a $10 empty tent, and hit a camel in the butt. It's going to be decisive." These words were spoken by him at Washington DC on Sept 19, 2001.
You have to consider this fact as well that, last year they had poached James King from Samsung successfully to post him as their European marketing director.
Yes, today he has become a marketing co-ordinator. They do have big names in their ranks, though what matters here is akin to what Bush felt on the French economy, "The problem with French is that they don't have a word for entrepreneur." Moreover, Bush had a wider perspective regarding his officer-selection that is evident in his comment on Linda Chavez, "I do remain confident in Linda. She'll make a fine labour secretary from what I've read in the press accounts. She's perfectly qualified."
May be. But, my heart goes out to Motorola for launching an environment friendly gadget called Motorola Moto W233 Green Mobile Phone.
Does that say that all their other gadgets hence are, catalysts of environment hazards? Anyway hats off to them for considering Bush's assumption regarding environment friendliness, which he had expressed on Sept 29, 2000 in Saginaw, Michigan. "I know the human being and fish can co-exist peacefully." More, most of their designs as well, upheld the view of Mr Bush, "One of the greatest things about books is sometimes there are some fantastic pictures."
I would rather wish them the best for their hyped twin launch of Motorola Tundra Mobile Phone and Motorola Touchscreen Surf A3100.
Optimistic boy. Anyway let them not come par in the future with Bush's view of raising twins, " I've been to war. I've raised twins. If I'd a choice, I'd rather go to war", said at Charleston, W.Virginia on Jan 27, 2002. And obviously, not so optimistic for the 4,000 employees under the Democles' sword of Motorola's revealed plans to slash as much jobs. It is hence nothing less than a budget, and a budget according to Bush is, "It's clearly a budget. It's got lot of numbers in it."
By the way Mr Salisbury, do you take into consideration the rumours regarding Motorola's contemplating the ditching of the UK market? Say sometime in 2011.
Boy, I don't take to rumours. Nevertheless I would say that 'sooner the better', watching the world around growing big on them. Today, they must learn to cope with the truth that they are not anymore the third in the global mobile phone market share, as LG has leapfrogged to take the cherry there. Refering to their plans on ditching the UK market and focusing on elsewhere, they could go well with Bush's visions put forth at Washington DC on May 5, 2006, "The point now is how do we work together to achieve important goals. And one such goal is a democracy in Germany." And here is Bush's style of bidding farewell," Good bye from the world's biggest polluter." These were his parting words to Gordon Brown and Nicholai Sarkozy at his final G8 summit at Rusutsu, Japan on July 10, 2008, grinning widely and punching the air as the two leaders looked on in shock.
Points noted Mr Salisbury. But one final question; What Motorola had in common with the likes of Nokia for holding the third place in the world mobile phone market for so long?
I really don't have an answer here son, though I definitely will forward Bush's answer to you on asked what he had in common with the ex-British Prime Minister Tony Blair.
" We both use Colgate toothpaste."
