Alcatel releases new Android mobile phone
Reports have confirmed that one of the popular European mobile phone makers, Alcatel will be releasing its new Android mobile phone- Alcatel OT-990 Android mobile phone in August through the network of O2. This phone is expected to be a cheap mobile phone.

O2 UK, one of the leading mobile network operators and mobile phone carriers operating in the United Kingdom will be reportedly introducing the Alcatel O2 990 Android mobile phone on a pay as you go tariff of around GBP 100.

A major difference between the popular models of the Spanish mobile phone maker is that the OT 990 phone of its does not offer a key board while the OT 980 mobile phone of Alcatel offers one. Nevertheless, it will have the Google 2.2 Android operating system besides being in line to get the update of Android 2.3 software after 2011.

The OT 990 mobile phone from Alcatel will be sold exclusively own the network of O2 under PAYG scheme. The major features of this mobile phone include a capacitive 3.5 inch touchscreen that boasts of 480 x 320 pixels resolution, a 5MP camera with flash facility, touch sensitive buttons just below the display and a processor of 600 MHz.
