In an attempt to give a fresh and stylish look, the Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS gets a new font known as Roboto. Addition of the new font will create a magazine-style look to the OS that was announced on Wednesday in Hong Kong. The interesting part of this font is that it has a dual nature. The forms are mostly geometric and it owns a mechanical skeleton.

To give a pleasant demeanor the font adopts a semi-circular curves. Unlike the fonts used in Gingerbread and Honeycomb, the new operating system will own an individual font type. The new mobile operating system will use the sans serif font as its main font. Google said that they wanted an entirely new font for their operating system and didn't prefer any fake brushed metal or wood.

The innovative, new typeface is attuned for high-resolution screens, such as Ice Cream Sandwich supporting 720p as the native resolution. Google claim that the new font to be very stylish. Apart from offering a modern feel, the fonts ensure readability.
