The Apple iPhone 3GS Mobile Phone, which is the latest attraction of the Apple Store is all set to hit the UK mobile phone market on June 19^th. The new model will transcend its predecessors by a number of upgrades such as a digital compass, video recording capability and more significantly, a doubled memory of 32GB.

Apple, charged by a string of successes with its Apple iPhone Mobile Phone and iPod is expecting a hot reception at the markets for the latest edition of its flagship model. The company will see that the gadget is launched simultaneously in both UK and US. In the UK, O2 has reportedly retained its exclusive rights to sell the device. It had forged a deal with Apple more than eighteen months back.

The iPhone 3GS is capable to hold up to forty hours of video and 7000 songs with its larger memory. The data can be downloaded from the iTune store of Apple. Another unique feature of the mobile phone is that it permits laptops or netbooks to piggyback on its line to the internet, similar to the functioning of a 3G mobile broadband dongle.

Some other features that are very much part of other advanced mobile phones like multimedia messages sending, copying and pasting and voice dialling, are also part of the iPhone 3GS package. Moreover, the latest version of the iconic phone that helped Apple to reap profits even amidst the global meltdown, is also expected to bear a better snapper with niceties such as autofocus.

Phil Schiller, the vice president of Apple said while launching the product that the letter 'S' in the name of the phone stood for speed, as it was the most powerful as well as the fastest iPhone ever manufactured. The launch ceremony was also rendered extra effects with rumours of Steve Jobbs paying a cameo at the event flying high, although that did not happen.

The iPhone 3GS will be available with price tags of GBP 342.50 and GBP 440.40 respectively for its 8GB and 16GB versions as the 32GB version will come with a price tag of GBP 538.30, according to O2. Beside, pay and go customers' packages of 18, 24 or 36 month deals are also offered by O2. An 18-month iPhone 3GS 32GB contract calls for an initial cost of GBP274 following a tariff of up to GBP 34 per month.
