It has been reported that NFC better known widely as Near Field Technology, which helps the customers to make payments directly using the mobile phone, would be an absentee in the upcoming Apple iPhone 5.
The iPhone 5 coming without any NFC technology atleast at the time of its launch is reportedly due to the lack of a particular standard for NFC across the mobile phone industry.
There is rumours rife that the NFC technology implementation with mobile phones would be stalled for the time being, which means that the iPhone 5 would also be featuring this technology for now.
It is also noteworthy that the Apple iPhone 4 had in its specifications list, the Wireless Hotspot functionality although it was only enabled recently using the iOS 4.3, the latest firmware.
Similarly, Apple also would be integrating the Near Field Technology in its iPhone 5 although it would only be enabling it once a universal and clear NFC standard is accepted across the mobile industry.
