Ashley Towns, the mind behind the Ikee worm has secured a job in an Australian app development firm. The Ikee worm caused Apple iPhone wallpapers to change to a picture of yesteryear's pop-star Rick Astley. The company that has hired the 21-year old bug writer is called Monogeration.
This information has been obtained from the Twitter-feeds of the hacker.
An official from online security firm, Sophos, has expressed his view, mentioning the decision of the company that hired Towns as irresponsible.
While hiring an offender can seem to be an encouragement for plenty of hackers out there, the question is should these virus developers be given a second chance or not. Although the Ikee bug creator shows no remorse for his misdeeds.
