In spite of the fact that everyone is content with whatever they are doing there is in them an urge to do something else too. This is applicable to companies too. No matter how good or successful they are they always try to ape their rival. This is what is happening with Blackberry. Blackberry created top class phones for their founders and kept including features as their founders required them.

The United State beat them at their own game and was successful in getting secure system into some of the big companies. This was what Nokia had failed to achieve. Security was of utmost importance and RIM the makers of Blackberry was able to infiltrate into the most traditional IT system in the world. This was something great and its security was so good that people trusted it more than themselves.

The old mobile phones were created on this principle, with the user interface being excellent. Sending and receiving Emails were simply terrific and effective in the Blackberry. Even the blackberry Messenger was way out, and users could utilize not only text messaging, but BBM as the main way to communicate.

However enter the iPhone and irrespective of the fact that they were no where near Blackberry performance, the Blackberry still got tinned. Thus Blackberry started beginning to ape the iPhones. They did not realize that no matter what iPhones or Droid phones would not be able to hold a torch to them however RIM wanted to be like Apple's tablet fully equipped with entertainments and music.

Some of the core technologies in the Blackberry really make the devices stand apart. But for this RIM would have to get back to manufacturing those phones that did great with emails, and not give up that to get other functionalities going in a lesser degree. The first Blackberry phones were actually black and white and believe it or not did not even does voice mail. It should probably go back to that stage rather than trying to be something that it cannot.

Another point that the Blackberry should stop doing is to give up trying to lure the teenagers before the teens decide to dump them. They should offer their BBM license to one single Android phone producer and make the phone rather pricey and make them pay the price for running the facility and also get them to pay RIM a down payment as royalty.

One of the ideal companies to offer the license to would be Sony Ericsson and which ever way one looks at it they would both only stand to gain from the move, because to a manufactures of Android phones who has only one brand the USP becomes a fantastic selling power.

The crux of the matter therefore is that stick to your guns and you will eventually be the winner.
