Dell the leaders in computer tech will soon be abandoning
BlackBerry phones. It will instead replace it with its own smartphone. So Dell will have to move its 25,000 employees from the RIM platform to either the
Windows Phone 7 platform or to an
Android one. Employees will be switching over to the Dell made
Venue Pro handsets. Dell would also begin marketing a business service to its clients. Thus the company need not worry about confidentiality of information by using a homemade mobile phone service provider. It intends to save 25% on communication costs too.
RIM's
Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES) is used by large corporates for managing Administrative IT and for communicating through BlackBerry Messenger and using secure phone or email. But newer platforms of rivals such as Apple and Google nowadays offer superior user experience. Only recently did RIM release
BlackBerry 6, an enhanced operating system. This finally brought the smartphone at par to other devices, considering the web browsing experience.
Coincidentally
Bank of America and Citigroup will also be prohibiting their staff the use of Blackberry smartphones from
Research in Motion (RIM). Concerns of the relative safety of exchanging secret messages being at risk influenced the decision, after some secret testing was made.
