Blood donation facilitated by mobile phone app
A student of the Dundee University has reportedly developed a prototype application for mobile phone for making it convenient for both potential as well as existing blood donors to donate blood.

An applied computing student of fourth year at Dundee University, James Mc Laren started pondering over how technology could be boost to encourage more people to donating blood.

The so called My Blood moile phone application of his, strives to encourage raised levels of blood donations by keeping track of the time a consumer had given his blood last. The application also kept track of the count down to the target of the user for donating blood for a certain number of times coming in a stipulated time period.

The new mobile phone application allows a consumer realise when and where the next service of blood donation could be held and provides the option of inviting friends via social networking websites to design group vistis and giving directions to sessions of blood donation.

Besides these, the My Blood mobile phone applications also provides the latest information and news on blood donation, as well as messages from people that have benefited to the mobile phones of the subscribers
