One of the prominent mobile network operators serving the United Kingdom, O2 is currently offering fresh tariffs to the consumers in the United Kingdom that include internet tethering for free.

This reflects the factor the company is vividly changing the strategy of its based on the reality that 70 per cent of fresh customers are purchasing internet enabled smartphones.

Of these customers, a considerable proportion are obviously going to be using their mobile phones to tether their internet tablet, netbook, laptop or smartphone to the internet using a free WiFi connection when they are away.

This announcement was made by O2 on its blog. It has also made available online, a detailed list of all the existing tariff of its. The prices of the new data plans of O2 are; GBP 34 for 100 MB plan, GBP 6 for a 500 MB plan and GBP 10 for a 1GB plan.

It is also worth noting here that only fresh customers are being offered free tethering deals. Those customers that had currently on the O2 network will have to wait untill the expiry of their existing contract.
