Mobile phone industry of U.S challenges San Francisco law on handset radiation levels.
The US
mobile phone industry has got-together to proceed against the city of San Francisco in a conjure to
dismiss a law, wanting the mobile stores to check for the amount of radiations the phones emit.
The law
'Cell Phone Right To Know' is the first of its kind in US. The wireless association debates that the law is shoddy and can confuse the consumer to think about the
safety standards of US and also imparts a message that safety of a mobile phone is associated to its emitted radiation.
In a statement, the CTIA told that all the
wireless phones sold in US are 'safe' and is monitored by FCC on regular basis. While the available grounds reflects no known health risk due to the emitted RF energy from cell phones.
Mayor Gavin Newsome, announcing the law in January exclaimed that the legislation will
recommend the telephone manufacturers to re-plan the devices so as to make them function at lower levels of radiations.
