Since some time now Dell's Venue pro is being hit from all sides with complaints and it does not look as if these are going to get over soon either. People who have bought the Dell venue pro have been complaining that the mobile phone's digital compass drive file is not working right. This was reported by an update from Mango as per their analysis of the device's system logs.
The issues cropped up during an XDA-Discussions meet the previous week in which people using the device coerced Zune to revise their DVPs to Mango. It was during this updating that they realized that the compass was not functioning properly. Further examination revealed that when trying to read the device's orientation time and again gave results of 100 degrees no matter in which direction the DVP was directed. The updated news from the Mango regarding installation states that the file called Drv.dll was deleted when the mobile phone's firmware was being updated.
It could be probably early in the day to create too much of a hullabaloo about the non- functioning of the compass in the Dell Venue pro because it could have been a direct consequence of the compulsory installation of Mango. The WP7 firmware that includes drivers specifically for the device is usually installed outside of the OS update and what was on the servers of Microsoft may not have been what was released when Mango was made official for the DVP. In fact if there happened to be an ultimate release of firmware this problem of the compass could possibly be rectified. The only thing to do is to wait and watch.
