Digital payment in shops to prevail from 2016
The people in the UK will not have to carry their purse while going to the market for purchase of goods from the year 2016.

According to PayPal, the world wide payments innovator, instead of cash, cheque card etc, the people will be using the digital money with the help of the mobile phone.

PayPal's opinion is based on a survey done on a sizable number of business magnates of the UK, whose combined turn over for the year 2010 was above GBP 85 Billion.

Currently more than 45 million people of the UK use the hand set. Almost 50% of the mobile buyers have informed that they use the mobile for making a purchase at least once in three months. Irrespective of whether they are shopping 'in-store' or 'on-line', they have to make payment directly to the retailer through certain devices.

Carl Scheible of PayPal UK stated that the buyers should be able to pay for what they want wherever they are and with whatever the device they are on. It can be a tablet, PC, mobile phone, games console or anything like that. It does not mean that cash will disappear outright. But the difference between direct purchase and online purchase will no more be there.

Today's children will be the first 'cashless generation' of the country. For them paying may be entirely through by mobile.

The views of Carl Scheible is on the wake of the launch of the 'iPhone' app of 'PizzaExpress' which enabled the diners to pay their bills through PayPal with the help of the smartphone. It happened to be a thrilling and pleasant experience for the diners.

There is no question of queuing for making payment. They may have all things like digital loyalty cards, receipts, promotional offers etc in their mobiles. There is no doubt that the phone will become a virtual shopping hub.
