
According to a market study firm's report eleven million Britons accessed social networking websites such as Twitter and Facebook on the go, using mobile devices.
TNS Mobile Life 2011, the report of the market research body further revealed that 16 per cent of the mobile phone owners said that they accessed social networking sites everyday using their mobile phone.
Besides, among every five mobile phone consumers two hardly accessed social networking websites using their mobile phone at present, although claimed that they were interested in the subject.
TNS Technology's group director Stephen Yap said that mobile applications and content have never being more significant, with social networking concept emerging as a powerful and popular application.
Yap added that operators and manufacturers of mobile phones needed to take note that it was no longer about the network or the device, instead was what consumers were downloading and doing.
