
HTC claimed that it had sold 13.2 million handsets during the last three months, which is a 100 % increase in its sales during the same period in the previous year. In fact, the company has been achieving profits for the seventh successive quarters.
However Samsung's sale in the same period was 27.8 handsets, outclassing Apple which sold 17.1 million phones.
HTC, the fifth largest phone makers in the world recorded a net income which is 70% more than that in the third quarter of the previous year. It is also 7% more than the profit of the last quarter.
Ass the profit rose by 68%, revenue was even more, to the tune of 79%. That clearly indicates the company's popularity worldwide. The impressive result was as a result of wide distribution networks, and launch of diverse products.
However HTC does not expect a bright 4th quarter. The company predicts lower sales due to various reasons including 'economic invisibility' globally.
Winston Yung of HTC is particular not to compromise on quality on any account. He intends to target those who want to switch over from normal phones to smartphones. There is no question of making budget phones as being done by ZTE and Huawei.
However he expects good sales of the smartphones in China. The sale in the region at present is 9 times more than that in the previous year.
