iPad and iPhone app traffic to be tracked by ABC
It has been reported that the magazines and newspapers that have an application on the iPad and iPhone of Apple, would be soon able to report traffic figures alongwith website and print figures.

The measuring of the activites of the smartphone applications was started by the Audit Bureau of Circulations that report the audience figures of the majority of the regional and national media of the United Kingdom on May 1.

All of the major national newspapers of the United Kingdom have their applications on the Apple iPhone, with the majority also boasting of having a product for the Apple iPad.

The Daily Telegraph on Thursday introduced an updated application for the iPad using the strict subscription scheme of Apple. However, it is hardly clear how many publishers will be needed to sign up the scheme or how many media firms intend to report the application traffic on a monthly basis, alongwith print and website statistics.

The number of unique device such as unique users would be measured by ABC, although one consumer could mean more than a device for accessing the application.
