A statement has been posted by the technology gadget giant of the world, Apple on its website only after a week it was reported that the data of the users were collected and stored by the iPhone, has promised a fix for the tracking bug.
Apple said that the iPhone was hardly logging the customers location, as it was rather maintaining a data base of mobile phone towers and Wi-Fi hotspots around the existing location of the customers, some of those may be over a hundred miles off from the device.
According to the company such maintaining of Wi-Fi hotspots and mobile tower data base only tends to help the iPhone of the customer accurately and rapidly calculate the location at request.
Last week a couple of security researchers based in the United Kingdom published a report, which revealed that a file in the iOS operating system of Apple maintained a record of the location history of the device, which is then copied to the computer of the user when the mobile phone is connected.
The report that reflected the findings published by a separate group of researchers last year extended fears that the customers' movements were being reported by the iPhone to Apple or that the privacy of the consumer could be put in jeopardy if the file was accessed by the owner of a different phone.
