The LG Optimus GT540 release date for the UK has been set to 1 May, 2010. It is said to be available exclusively with network operator O2, for a limited period of time. However, no pricing or contract details have been revealed yet.
The LG GT540 is an Android 2.1 based entry-level smartphone. It sports a 3" touchscreen. Great emphasis has been laid on social networking. Twitter and Facebook apps have been integrated within. A common console allows managing these multiple accounts.
3G networks and WiFi are both supported. So you can surf the internet, check mails, socialise on online communities, chat using instant messenger and more either at WiFi hotspots or on-the-go, via the supplier's network.
The LG Optimus GT540 mobile phone is home to a 3 Megapixel camera which supports face-tagging and geo-tagging. Therefore, people in your contacts list can be tagged when you take their photographs, along with the geographical locations. The GPS ability of this cell phone allows for both geo-tagging as well as accessing location based services.
The media player supports the DivX video format. An FM radio is present within too. You can listen to songs by plugging headphones into the 3.5mm headphone jack offered by this handset. All songs, videos and photographs can be stored in microSD cards. The LG GT540 Optimus smartphone supports microSD cards of a maximum of 32GB capacity.
