
A research that was commissioned by New Media Age that surveyed 1300 people in United Kingdom revealed that 80 per cent of them said that they used their mobile phones while watching television. 72 per cent commented on specific programmes being accessed through social networks on their mobile phones.
Twitter and Facebook were pinpointed by the study as the most consumed social networks by the respondents in the study. However the study did not break down data by handset type.
The most popular shows, on which the respondents commented include The X Factor and Coronation Street of the ITV, Skins of Channel 4, Glee of E4 and EastEnders of the BBC.
The most popular communication platform has been Twitter with 72 per cent of respondents using it. The second favourite was Facebook with 56 per cent using it and 34 per cent claimed that they used other applications. Almost 62 per cent of the respondents said that they used all the three.
It was only recently another research had shown that out of ten people of the United Kingdom within the age group of 8 and 15 owned a mobile phone, and almost 57.4 per cent used their mobile phones to access internet.
