Mobile handsets to exceed human population in a couple of years
According to the security specialist 'SeccurEnvoy', the number of handsets will exceed the world population in due course.

At present the world population is 7 billion and the there are around 5 billion mobile phones in operation. One billion of these phones were bought during the last one year. At this rate mobile will overtake humans in the next two years.

SecurEnvoy believes that more and more people will be working from home due to the lack of space for office. This is also because the cost of office space is mounting. The state of the country's economy is such that the companies will be interested in reducing the overheads and staff costs.

In fact a recent study showed that there is a rise in people working at home by 82%.

This is as a result of the change in technology. The people are able to connect to their office remotely. They are using personal devices for work. The organisation has become much more 'virtual'.

There is rise in the attacks on organisations, especially government concerns. The concept of a cyber criminal so far has been that of a single hacker using a PC for targeting a number of companies or persons, but in future the attacks will be more automated, much stronger and will be much more in number. As mobile traffic is on the rise, the crime wills also grow in alarming proportion. By 2016 it may increase by tenfold.

An important factor to be considered now is the security aspect of the data, especially when the employees are allowed to connect to the company's infrastructure.

The government has announced that security will be given primary importance and that it does not mind allotting suitable fund for achieving it. The government will also contact the companies specialised in the field of security to ensure the safety and security of the data.

But the pity is that the firms, despite being under-protected, do not want to spend for the security and to settle the problem.

Most of the companies feel that it is beyond any body's control to prevent a cyber crime or a hardware failure. They seem to accept it or settle for it.

But as both the company and the country become more and more aware of the threat it is hoped that security will be given prominence.
