To be preciser, the mobile rates in the United Kingdom, as per reports are about to dip by 80 per cent.
Ofcom, the telecommunications regulator of the United Kingdom has reportedly asked the four prominent mobile network operators to reduce the prices they charged their customers for making a call to a mobile phone from a landline or another network.
This means that the existing monthly mobile phone bill of GBP 36.41 will be cut by GBP 23.67 by the new ruling, showing a massive slash by 64 per cent.
Incidentally, this landmark ruling from the telecommunications regulator comes after a virtual campaign was triggerred off by the media of the country against the inordinate mobile phone charges that prevailed in the county's mobile industry.
It is worth mentioning here that 4.48 pence were being charged for a minute to call a mobile from a different network or landline by the prominent mobile service providers, Everything Everywhere, O2, Vodafone and Three UK only less than a penny was required for these providers to connect these calls.
