Mobile Phones 2010… The Supposed Roadmap For the UK

Windows Phone 7 smartphoneMobile phone comparison site Omio, have come out with a calendar for release of various mobile phones in the UK, on this side of 2010. There is a slew of handsets being released - both mid-range and high-end. Here's a peek at Omio's report:-


Nokia have 5 mobile phones scheduled for release this year. The low-end Nokia E5 is set for a release this month. The Nokia X6, which is supposed to be a high-end, music-centric, affordable handset is expected this August. September will be seeing the Nokia X2, which sports a 5MP camera, step into the market. The highlights are however, the Nokia N8 and the Nokia E7, which are supposed to be Symbian^3 smartphones. They are reportedly being released in October and November respectively.


Samsung just have 2 handsets to be sent to market this year. The first is the Samsung i5500, which is supposed to be a Corby-like handset with Android running within. It's release is expected this month. The next handset is the Samsung i8700 Cetus, which is speculated to be a high-end smartphone sporting the Bada OS, and is said to be released in November.


Sony Ericsson have the Xylo, the Hazel, the Xperia X8 and the Yendo coming to market in 2010. The Xylo is a Walkman-kind of phone which is said to be launched this month. The eco-friendly Hazel, will be seeing a September release. The Xperia X8 and Yendo are expected in October.


Blackberry have the Curve 9300 scheduled for release in August. This phone apparently sits between the Curve 8520 and Bold 9700 in terms of offerings.


HTC have the show stealing news with their HTC Gold, a Windows Phone 7 smartphone entering the market in November. There are 2 other handhelds, the HTC Ace and the HTC Vision, being released in October.
