Incidentally, online clearance sale due to the mobile phone at 'John Lewis', the UK's favorite retailer, was more than double of that at the same period last year.

According to Jonathon Brown, in charge of online selling at John Lewis, the volume of transactions through mobile phone during the last few days has been simply amazing. This shows the change in attitude of the customers in making purchases.

As per a study by IBM, 11% of all online sales made in October 2011 were through mobile phones. This has been confirmed by online auction site eBay.

Richard Dodd of 'British Retail Consortium' (BRC) commented that never before has the mobile shopping dictated the terms as of now. Mobile phone provides access to thousands of products and their prices, with the result, retail has become a more competitive business.
