What's unique about this mobile handset is that, it opens out like a book, instead of sliding. It is not like the usual clamshells either. When it is closed, it has the 3.1" HVGA touchscreen on one side and the QWERTY keyboard on the other. Motorola also claims that this device is quite rugged and will continue to function even after getting a beating.

The next novel feature is the trakpad, which is called Backtrack. This name is quite apt considering that it is located behind the screen panel. When the phone is open, you could probably use your index finger to scroll, navigate and more.

Specs-wise, this smartphone support for WiFi, GPS, 3G networking and Bluetooth. A full HTML browser is also expected to be present. This gadget will run Android 1.5, and will allow upgrading to Android 2.1 too. Other goodies include 5MP camera, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a 2GB in-phone memory, microSD cards support up to 32GB.

The CEO of Motorola, Sanjay Jha, has mentioned that the smartphone will make it to Asian Latin American, North American and European markets. This is expected to happen later on in this quarter itself.
