It has been reported that the mobile phones f Nokia have emerged at the top of the table of the most eco friendly (environment friendly) mobile handsets offered in the United Kingdom, compiled by O2.

The eco rating scheme of O2 is part of its promotional programme, 'Thing Big Sustainability' that has been aimed at the education of customers on living sustainabily via the products of O2. O2 had developed the eco rating scheme by teaming up with Forum for the Future.

As per the eco rating chart of O2 the C6-01 and the E7 mobile phones of Nokia are rated the most environment friendly mobile devices in the United Kingdom, each one managing a rating of 4.1 of 5.

The second spot in the eco ranking chart of O2 was shared amongst Samsung Galaxy Mini, Samsung Galaxy Ace, Sony Ericsson X8 and Nokia C7-02.

The overall impact a handset had on the environment across its life time has been studied by the eco rating scheme based on the information provided by the mobile phone manufacturers. Besides the manufacturers' ethical performance was also measured by the scheme
