A recently carried out research by the telecommunications regulator of the United Kingdom, Ofcom has shown that people in the United Kingdom aged between 16 and 24 years would be missing their mobile handsets and the web more than television.
The survey by the watchdog further showed that more than half of the children in the United Kingdom aged between 8 and 15 years that used the web were at present having a social networking profile.
Nevertheless, the television still remains the media, which would be missed the most by the United Kingdom as a whole, inspite of its having dropped from 50 per cent in 2009 to 44 per cent in 2010.
It is for the first time that the people within the age group of 16 to 24 years have said that they would miss mobile handsets - this amounts to 28 per cent - ahead of television - 23 per cent - besides also missing the internet - 26 per cent, according to the regulator.
Likewise among the children of the age group of between 12 and 15 television is no more the media missed the most. This equates to 24 per cent, while 26 per cent of this group said that they would largly miss their mobile phone and 24 per cent pointed to the internet as their most missed media.
