Apple In Orange's Basket
Orange will start selling the
Apple iPhone 3G and the
Apple iPhone 3G S in the UK market later this year. This beings the exclusivity of the Apple iPhone with the O2 network to an end.
A spokesperson for Orange revealed that the mobile handsets will be available in Orange shops, online Orange store, telesales channels of Orange and certain high street shops, later on this year. However, pricing, deals, offers and other such information are still a mystery.
O2 will still continue to offer the iPhone on their network in the UK. The mobile operator seems pretty calm and composed on the outside, mentioning that they always knew that their deal with Apple was only for a limited period of time. However, the merging of Orange and T-mobile, to make them the largest mobile provider in the UK, is definitely a cause of concern for O2.
