
Orange, as a part of its bid towards expanding its financial services, has
trademarked the name 'Orange Cash'.
The name was trademarked under categories that include payment and prepayment cards, credit, debit and cash cards, credit card facilities, financial and banking services. The move follows
Orange deal with Barclaycard that was announced on march 2009 to formulate a range of co branded products and services and ultimately introduce linkless payment on a mobile.
After the launch of joint linkless credit card in January this year, each time a customer makes a payment they were rewarded. Last year
O2 launched O2 money with debit cards in partnership with NatWest that lets its customers to control their spending. Until now Orange did not confirm Orange Cash to be its financial brand name.
