Palm Pre 2 much awaited in UK

The Palm Pre 2 smartphone is a much awaited launch in UK and generally expected before Christmas, as that's logically the best time for a "relaunch".


The release date is yet to be confirmed or announced, but TV commercials have been very recently aired in the UK. The Palm Pre 2 is however being launched in France on Friday, 29th,Oct. HP the new owners having confirmed the European release and are expected to bring it to UK very soon.


HP having acquired a ready-made smartphone OS has wasted no time with an update, the webOS 2.0, and existing Palm Pre owners can get it. The Palm Pre 2 will however have the new OS pre-loaded. The new version looks almost an identical twin. But evident is the flatter screen by SFR.



The webOS 2.0 version has introduced and revamped a number of options. A new and improved multi-tasking option called STACKS help automatically group related Apps together in a logical order and reduces clutter. A Favourite option tags all favourite contacts.


Another feature is the inclusion of Adobe Flash Player 10.1 Beta in the browser. This is a distinct feature found in the Android 2.2 version. An Exhibition mode automatically runs this application while the phone is in the dock, charging. It can run a slide-show or show your agenda. The revamped HP Synergy combines information from Facebook , Google, Microsoft Exchange, LinkedIn & Yahoo accounts. Just Type allows the user to e-mail, message and update statuses just by typing without opening the app.



Palm Pre 2 will have a more powerful 1GHz processor. It will have a multi-touch screen measuring 2.1" and and internal memory of 16 GB along with 512 MB RAM. It incorporates an Accelerometer, GPS, a slide-out QWERTY key-board and a good 5Mp camera with flash assist on the other side.


So the Palm Pre 2 is really an awaited release for this holiday season in the UK.
