Last week Apple had closed the door on the Palm Pre and other non-Apple devices from
syncing with their latest iTunes version 8.2.1. However, Palm seems quite determined to retain the compatibility between the
handset and the digital media player application. An update to the Palm WebOS platform has restored this compatibility.
Just like the
Apple iPhone 3G S, O2 is the exclusive carrier of
Palm Pre in the UK. Though a release date is not yet announced, the coveted handset is speculated to step into the market during Q3 of this year. This gadget has already been released into the US in June this year. This was almost the same time the iPhone 3G S went on sale. The sales records did show some good results too. Both mobile phones are wealthy on the feature front. The Apple iPhone 3G S is a bigger and faster handset though. Price wise too, the iPhone 3G S costs more than the Palm Pre.
How Apple is going to take Palm's re-establishment of compatibility between the Pre and the iTunes application is yet to be seen.
